Connecticut public adjuster
Fairfield County is not the Naugatuck Valley.
Connecticut claims split between the Long Island Sound shore and the older cities inland. High-value wind on the coast and a frozen line in a Hartford triple-decker should not be written up as the same repair. The carrier already has its own adjuster. American Financial Claims handles the file for the named insured. Reach (239) 444-8101 for a free claim review before you accept a figure or give a recorded statement. Report the loss when your policy requires it. Our review does not replace that notice, and it does not start a fee.
The Sound shore.
Stamford, Greenwich, Norwalk, Westport, and Fairfield see nor’easter wind, wind-driven rain, and houses whose finishes a unit-price estimate will miss. Slate, custom millwork, and condominium towers along the rail line do not scope like a ranch. The association policy and the unit policy divide roofs, glass, and betterments. Bring both. Tidal flooding and rising water are often excluded from the homeowners form or placed on a separate flood policy. Wind through an opening is a different fact. Photos of the waterline versus the failed window or roof edge keep the file honest. We will not merge them. See wind damage and roof damage. Milford sits on that same shore, with more ordinary houses mixed in.
Ice still hits these towns. A dam at the eave of a steep roof can wet a top floor without any tide involved. That path is attic and insulation, not a flood zone. Say which water you actually have.
New Haven, Hartford, and the industrial cities.
New Haven and Hamden mix rentals, older frame buildings, and campus-area housing. A plumbing stack can cross units. Whose policy owns the pipe is the first question, not the paint color. Hartford, West Hartford, New Britain, Bristol, and Meriden add multifamily water, fire, and roofs that take ice and snow load away from the immediate shore. Waterbury and Danbury follow that inland pattern. Frozen pipes in buildings with uneven heat, and kitchen leaks that soak the floor below, are plumbing and water files. Fire that uses a balloon frame needs a smoke path, not only a photo of the burner. See fire and smoke. If the carrier already paid a cosmetic number, compare it under underpaid claims.
Commercial buildings in Hartford and Stamford — equipment, tenant work, and interrupted operations — are only in the claim when the policy says so. Commercial claims and business interruption describe that file. We do not promise a result or a closing date.
Credentials, without a made-up firm number.
The individual number published for Connecticut on our licensing page is 20497788. American Financial Claims does not publish a Connecticut firm license. We confirm status and whether we can take the file before representation. The website is not a live check with the Insurance Department. Florida firm license G288962 is a Florida firm credential only. The cities below are service areas, not a storefront in each one. Our published office is in Miami.
What helps the first look
Declarations page, photos of the opening or the failed pipe, the date you noticed the damage, dry-out or contractor invoices, and the carrier estimate or denial. If a condominium is involved, add the master policy or the association letter. Any fee is in writing before you sign. There is no charge to review. We do not list a client-authorized Connecticut settlement on results. Other states’ cases are not a forecast for a Sound shore roof or a Hartford stack. Legal deadlines belong with a Connecticut-licensed attorney. Your notice clause can be stricter than a general statute.

Connecticut FAQ
Questions people ask before hiring.
General information, not legal advice. A free review does not create a fee.
Is Fairfield County wind the same claim as a Hartford plumbing leak?
No. Shore wind turns on the opening, the finishes, and whether tide water is even on the policy. Inland plumbing turns on the source, the units it crossed, and the dry-out. Call (239) 444-8101 and name the town. The review is free and does not replace notice.
Will homeowners insurance pay for Long Island Sound flooding?
Often flood is excluded or written on a separate policy. Wind-driven rain through a failed roof or window is a different fact. Bring the declarations page. We will not assume either cause is covered.
Our condo association is handling the exterior. Do I still call?
Sometimes yes. Interior finishes, betterments, and loss assessments can sit on your form. We read both policies before treating your file as closed.
