North Carolina public adjuster
Three geographies, three kinds of claim.
North Carolina does not have one property claim. Barrier-island wind, a Piedmont hail roof, and a mountain river through a foundation are different files even when the news calls all of them a storm. American Financial Claims speaks for the person named on the policy, not for the insurer that issued it. Dial (239) 444-8101 for a free claim review before you accept a figure or give a recorded statement. You still send notice on your policy’s clock. The review does not replace that notice and does not start a fee.
The coast, then the Piedmont.
On the coast, Wilmington and Jacksonville see named-storm wind and wind-driven rain. Wind is sometimes written on a different contract than the everyday homeowners form. We read the declarations instead of assuming one policy pays the roof and the surge. Rising floodwater is often excluded from a standard homeowners policy. If both wind and flood hit the building, the inspection has to separate them. Photos of the waterline, the opening, and the roof edge do that work. See wind damage and flood claim documentation.
The Piedmont is a hail, tree, and suburban-roof market. Charlotte, Concord, Huntersville, Mooresville, Gastonia, and Kannapolis share one metro pattern. Raleigh, Durham, Cary, Apex, Wake Forest, and Chapel Hill are another, with rentals and owner houses under the same squall line. Greensboro, High Point, and Winston-Salem add the Triad. Impact on gutters and vents dates hail better than a curb view. Fallen trees open a roof and then the rain follows. Matching discontinued shingles, and actual cash value versus replacement cost, are the usual fights on hail and roof claims. Fayetteville and Greenville sit between the coast and the metros. Their storms are not beach claims and they are not mountain claims.
Mountain water, and a commercial kitchen.
Asheville and the western counties are a third file. Steep slopes, river flooding, and debris flows — including the kind of mountain flooding that followed Hurricane Helene — are not a Charlotte shingle claim. Flood is frequently excluded. Sewer backup, landslide, and surface water can be carved out or endorsed separately. We will not tell you the river is covered until the form says so. Interior water from a failed line is yet another cause. Document the source.
Commercial losses need their own scope. Look at commercial claims and fire and smoke if your loss is a business. A short pay on a house is still worth a look under underpaid claims. We do not promise appraisal or a supplement will change the number.
Licensing, stated narrowly.
The individual number published for North Carolina on our licensing page is 8856862. American Financial Claims does not publish a North Carolina firm license. We confirm current status and whether the engagement can be accepted. The webpage is not a live query of the Department of Insurance. Florida firm license G288962 is our Florida firm credential only. City pages are service areas across the state, not a storefront in each town. The firm’s published address is in Miami.
What helps on the first call
Bring the declarations page, the storm or leak date, photos of roofs and waterlines, any mitigation bill, and the carrier estimate or denial. If more than one policy might apply, send both. If we offer a contract, the fee is on paper before you sign. There is no charge to review the file. Legal deadlines belong with a North Carolina-licensed attorney. Your policy can require notice sooner than a statute you read about online.

North Carolina FAQ
Questions people ask before hiring.
General information, not legal advice. A free review does not create a fee.
Is coastal wind in Wilmington the same policy question as Asheville flooding?
No. Coastal wind may sit on a different contract than the everyday homeowners form, and river flooding is often excluded or limited. Call (239) 444-8101 and say which one you have. A free review does not replace notice to the insurer.
Can you look at a Piedmont hail roof that was already paid?
Often, yes. A payment is the carrier’s current number. We compare it with photos, soft-metal collateral, and the valuation language. Coverage still depends on the forms.
What North Carolina license number do you publish?
Individual number 8856862. We do not publish a North Carolina firm license. Florida firm license G288962 is a Florida credential. We confirm status before representation.
Do you have an office in every city listed?
No. These are service areas, not local offices.
